We love makeup but even we agree that some people go way overboard with products. Sometimes less is more. Let’s see how we can achieve the perfect look only using nine products.
Step 1: Keep it real
When the weather is hot you’ll want to tone your shine down, ZAO natural powder is great for this. Go all over the face with a fluffy brush to reduce the glow.
If you’re blessed with a great bone structure like Lidija then you won’t need to do any crafty contouring, simply go straight to the blussher. Apply it with a large brush in a circular motion to the cheekbones, this will really pull out those cheeks to make them look fuller.
Step 2: Dot, dot, dot
Just a few dots of Radiance reveal beneath the eyes is enough to disguise any blemishes or traces of tiredness. Blend it in with your fingertip to give an even finish.
Misslyn Beach Please is a great bronzer, apply to the upper brow just below the hairline. This cheeky application gives just the right amount of colour and definition.
Pro tip: Be careful not to get the powder into your hair - better still, do your hair last!
Step 3: Let there be light
Use a highlighter to draw thin lines between the eyebrows, down the bridge of the nose, then trace your smile creases and blend in with a soft brush. This is a really natural makeup that won’t give you the caked up look that’s so popular these days. Applying a little above and below the lips will bounce light and make your lips rounder to give the perfect pout.
Step 4: Shimmer and shine
Lidija has deep set eyes so we’re using a light shimmer powder from the Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette to bring them forward.
Shimmer shades do tend to travel into the creases so using a primer or powder can help to reduce this. Define the eye socket with a slightly darker shade, this can also help to pull deep set eyes forward.
Adding a touch just below the inner corner is a great little trick to wake you up.
Pro tip: Try not to get too much powder on the brush and have it drop onto your cheeks like we did here...
Step 5: Brows & lashes
Matching the texture of brow-shadow or pencil to your natural skin type can be tricky, experiment with different ones to find the best one for you. You don’t want anything too heavy just enough to fill in the gaps of your brows.
Apply a good coverage of L’Oreal mascara to the upper lashes only. Look out for our other tutorial on mascara techniques and how to quickly revamp your daily makeup so you can be ready for your night out in minutes.
Step 6: Voilà
Kryolan High Gloss completes this look perfectly giving a clear, shiny finish to those kissers.
