Women want their nightout makeup look to be long-lasting, photo-friendly and all over perfect. You all requested this, so we delivered. Below is a look that guarantees to fulfill the abovementioned wishes and we will present it with the help of a professional makeup artist Kristjan Krhlikar, who has worked at fashion weeks worldwide and has quite a few tricks up his sleeve.
Priming the face before foundation application is extremely important. Not only will it prolong the wear of makeup, but it will also protect your skin from the drying effect of the heavy-duty foundation you're about to apply.
The secret to a long lasting night out makeup is a high-coverage foundation applied in super thin layers with a soft fluffy brush. Don't be afraid of mixing two different shades together to get your perfect match - it's what all the makeup artists do! Simply tap the foundation all over the face, pushing the product into the skin with light pressure. This way the layers stay thin while the pigments in the foundation cover what needs to be covered instead of being pushed around.
Pro tip: If you know that pictures will be taken, avoid using foundation with spf, because it will make you look white as a sheet on photos.
Next, apply some brightening concealer under the eyes and tap it out with your fingers. Again, make the layer(s) thin for best result. Lightly blend the concealer over the eyelids as well with the soft brush from before to even out the eyelid area.
Highlighting the central features of the face is a good way to start giving dimension back to your face. With a smaller, more precise brush, apply a lighter shade of foundation/concealer on the bridge of the nose, center of the chin and between the eyebrows. Blend it out.
Set the foundation with powder to mattify it. Apply it with a soft powder brush in tapping motion, once again pushing the product in to avoid taking the foundation off.
For blemishes: After setting the foundation, go over the blemishes with a concealer. Some blemishes might have already been covered by foundation at this point, so this order of application enables you to use less product.
Kristjan started the contour by drawing a thin line with the cream contouring product right under our model's cheekbones.
He then blended it out with a beauty blender – by pushing the product lightly into the skin. The next step is to swipe a bit of powder contouring product over the cream one with a soft brush to set it, as well as intensify the color. Apply it also along the top of the forehead and on both sides of the nose to give more depth to the face.
We did some subtle highlighting already with the foundation, brightening the central features of the face. Now we will focus on the high point of the face, using some proper highlighting powder and a fan brush. Apply the highlighter on the top of the cheekbones, on the forehead, and swipe some over the bridge of the nose and over the Cupid's bow.
To make the concealer on the eyes stay put, apply a skin-like shade of eyeshadow all over the lid.
Apply a tiny bit of chocolate brown shadow into the outer corner, extending it into the crease and blending everything thoroughly along the way.
Do the same along the lower lash line. Dark eyes are a staple in every night-out makeup look and this one is no exception.
To make your eyes pop, apply a thin line of black kohl pencil all around the eyes and blend it gently with downwards motion.
Smoke it out a tiny bit in the outer corner, but don't overdo it.
Since this look is a bit too dark at the moment, adding stars to your eyes is a must. Apply a shimmery champagne shade in the inner corner to brighten everything up.
Fill in your brows with thin, hair-like strokes to get the look of a naturally full brows.
For neutral, but defined lips, line them with a rosy lip pencil and color them in with a creamy lipstick in a similar shade.
Finish off the look with a few coats of mascara on your upper lashes.
