No, you don't need liquid foundation all the time

Why slather heaps of foundation on your beautiful skin, when you can just slightly perfect it and let it shine through. If you've been blessed with unblemished skin, but still love to play with makeup, take advantage of the popular no-makeup makeup and search for tutorials such as the one below. Your skin will be able to breathe and look its best at the same time.

Skin

Liquid foundation can feel heavy, especially in the summer heat, when it can quickly turn you into a grease ball and star sliding off your face. Why not simply use some pressed compact powder instead, plus concealer where needed? To start with, tap the pressed powder on the skin with a soft, fluffy brush to take away the shine and even out your skin tone.

Pro tip: If you battle dry skin, moisturize heavily beforehand and use a primer, so that dry patches won't show.

Our model in the tutorial prefers to cover the redness showing on her cheeks, so we put some moisturizing concealer under the eyes in a triangle shape, blending it downwards with tapping motion. This way you can cover the redness and brighten the under-eye area in one go.

Pro tip: For an odd blemish use the same approach – just tap some concealer on it and carefully blend the edges, so the top of the blemish stays covered with the most product.

Brows

Brows are essential when making the most with as little makeup as possible, as they frame the face and make the whole look more polished. Fill them in with powder/pencil and comb through them with a spoolie to evenly transfer the color, as well as making them look more natural. Remember, the goal here isn't strong, super-angled Instagram brows, but rather a softly accentuated natural shape of your brows.

Blush & Bronze

Peach-colored blush looks young and flirty, and is especially complimentary in the summer when our skin gets a slightly darker hue due to the sun. Swipe the blush over the most prominent part of your cheeks, i.e. where you would naturally blush.

The function of a bronzing powder is to accentuate the summer tan or to simply give some dimension to the whole look. Push some bronzer into the hairline at the top of your forehead with a brush and swipe a bit over the bridge of your nose and the center of the chin. Blend the bronzer also on the apples of the cheeks to make them pop.

Lips

Plump and smooth lips can be a worthy equivalent of a glossy lipstick, so to avoid lipstick application, exfoliate your lips in the morning and put a nicely moisturizing lip balm over it – clear or tinted, your choice!

Cheap trick: Exfoliate your lips with a wet toothbrush and save money on lip scrubs.
